Will Bill Frist Remain Saintly?
The new Senate majority leader has been a poster boy for compassionate conservative and a man who could do no wrong. The honeymoon is over
"Frist is riding one of the biggest public-relations bonanzas in modern times. Regularly touted as the Senate’s only physician, a man of great personal fortune who donates his time to AIDS patients in Africa, Frist is the poster boy for President Bush’s compassionate conservatism. Yet when disgruntled Republicans looked among themselves for the author of the Eli Lilly sweetheart deal, nobody stepped forward, and certainly not the esteemed and ethical Dr. Frist.
"He stayed quiet as speculation centered on White House Budget Director Mitch Daniels, an executive with Eli Lilly before joining the administration. Daniels denied any involvement.
Indiana Republican Dan Burton, who chairs the Government Reform Committee and who has a grandson who suffers from autism, threatened to hold hearings. Sen. Frist's Son in Small Plane Crash
"NASHVILLE, Tenn. –– A small plane crashed during takeoff Friday, slightly injuring the 18-year-old son of newly elected Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist.
"Harrison Frist, a freshman at Princeton University, was a passenger on a privately owned plane that was taking off from John C. Tune Airport, said Frist spokesman Nick Smith. He was being treated at Centennial Medical Center, a hospital in the HCA Inc. chain founded by the senator's father and brother.
"Harrison is fine," Smith said. He had no other details.
"Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Christopher White in Atlanta said the Cessna 182S rolled down a 30-foot embankment along the runway at the small airport. The FAA was investigating the accident, which also injured a second person, White said. The third person on board was not hurt. Names of the other two people on board were not immediately released.
"Visibility was hampered by foggy weather, officials said. There is no air traffic control at Tune Airport because it is just for "general aviation," or private planes. FAA records show the plane was registered to Right Rudder LLC of Nashville. A phone listing for the company could not immediately be located.
"Frist has two other sons, Jonathan, 17, and Bryan, 15, who are enrolled in St. Albans school in Washington.
"Senate Republicans chose the second-term senator to replace Sen. Trent Lott of Mississippi as the head of their caucus when Congress reconvenes Jan. 7. Lott agreed to give up the post last week amid a furor over racially insensitive remarks he made Dec. 5 at a 100th birthday celebration for retiring Sen. Strom Thurmond." Washington Post
Starcats' Commentary: This is not a good omen. Let us look back at 1860, the year in which Abraham Lincoln was elected president. His assassination did not occur until his was elected to his second term of office. What presaged Lincoln's own death was the death of two of his sons from illness during his tenure in the White House. If Frist becomes president in 2008, one should know that the Inauguration Moon (Jan 20, 2009) is at 29 Scorpio, and is void of course. Astrologers have long noted that void of course Moons in inauguration charts point to a president who does not finish his (and someday her) term of office.
I was struck by this close encounter with Fate so close to the time when Frist ascended another rung of the power ladder. Mars is in square to Jupiter today: an over the top aspect fraught with the propensity to make bad decisions. This flight should have been cancelled. The Frists need to be more vigilant regarding their children and airplanes during January 2003 when Mars in Scorpio (surgeons and death) squares Uranus (ruler of aviation and aircraft).

It is the day of Mars at the hour of Saturn, the two planetary "malefics" acknowledged by mundane astrologers since the time of the Babylonians.
It is the Venus return of George W. Bush's inauguration (17 Pisces) and Uranus at 19 Pisces is in the degree of George Bush's Inauguration Moon (19 Sagittarius) and Uranus (19 Aquarius).
Saturn is retrograde at 21 Virgo and opposes both Venus and Uranus along and intercepted 5th house/11th house axis. This president will not be liked (Saturn opposite Venus). Saturn's trine to Mars in Capricorn in the 9th may indicate the ability to temper one's emotions and deliberate more carefully upon foreign policy decisions.
However, the overall tone of this chart, since it is the day of Mars and hour of Saturn, leads me to conclude that there is something of grave sacrifice, grief and of bad feeling undergirding this particular presidency.
Mercury is retrograde at 0 Aquarius and combust (conjunct) the Aquarius Sun, which has just been crossed over by expansive, exaggerating Jupiter. The leader can't "see" what is so clear to everyone around him (or her). Neptune at 23 Aquarius is still in mutual reception with Uranus in Pisces. Neptune in the 10th house is symbolically hit by the transiting Sun in just under weeks (fixed, angular Sun and Neptune). Something of a grave, sacrifical nature is "given over" in about the first six months of this presidency.

 Bush & Rove Use Executive Branch of Government to Orchestrate Coup d'Etat in the Legislative Branch By Conspiring to Get Cat Killer Frist In Position To Replace Good Ole' Racist Trent Lott As Senate Majority Leader!

Commentary
Michael Wolfstar's Newscope mentions that Frist was born the same day as George Washington and both share Mars in Scorpio and an ambitious Capricorn Moon. This could lead Frist towards the presidency in 2008 and many news pundits believe that Bush is already groooming Frist for the position.
Frist has a grand cardinal square comprised of Uranus, Saturn, Chiron and Jupiter and a harsh Mars-Pluto square. Mars-Pluto combinations are oftentimes indicative of life and and death situations, so Frist's career as a heart-lung transplant surgeon resonates well with this square. The cardinal cross marks him as an ambitious initiator. However, the Mars-Pluto square is Frist's signature of animal torture. Frist adopted cats from Boston's animal shelters and used them in dissections while in medical school.
This is a huge issue, one that even bothered the male commentators on MSNBC Cable TV news. Frist alleged that he committed this egregious act because he was under pressure to perform by one of his medical school professors. It begs the question as to what other ethical rules he might bend should Karl Rove and George W. Bush stick the political screws to him.
Frist's Jupiter in opposition to Saturn (his Saturn conjoins the USA's Saturn and and forms a T-square configuration with the USA's Sun and Bush's Sun) in combination with Pallas, Sun and Mercury in Pisces describe him as a "true believer," and one who may believe that "the ends justify the means." It's back to the innocent creatures he slaughtered for personal gain again.
Frist's grand cardinal square draws Bush's natal 12th house (covert, secretive, plotting) sun into the mix. When Transiting Saturn enters Cancer in June, 2003 and applies to a conjunction with Bush's Sun (and the USA's Sun) both Bush and Frist's charts are going to ping! ping! ping! With Saturn as the chief player 30 years ago in Nixon's resignation of the White House, begin looking closely and carefully at Frist, Bush, and Iraq for hints of great damage to the Bush presidency to come. Frist's Chiron in Capricorn (he is having his Chiron "return" now at age 50) opposes Bush's natal 12th house Sun. I think, in the end, when the Bush scandals begin to erupt, Frist will be a key player -- quite possibly at the center of the storms.
As Uranus moves from 29 Aquarius to 0 Pisces, the planet of upsets and the unforseen will conjoin Frist's North Lunar Node. Not to mention a double rolling over the USA's Moon: the people and their welfare.
Whereas the North Node is about "the future," it is also about what cannot be controlled by human beings, including what astrologers can predict. Call Uranus and the Lunar Nodes God's trump cards.
and the nodes and Uranus are both about "fate." It could well look to Frist that what he so very much wanted when viewed through the lens of his ambitious Capricorn Moon won't look so good when Saturn and Uranus come to call upon his natal Uranus and his natal North Lunar Node.
Mars retrogrades in 2003 and will spend a total of six months in the sign Pisces. That means that the God of war and of blind ambition (John Dean can tell you about that!) will conjoin transiting Uranus in Aquarius AND in Pisces, a total of two times, drawing in Frist's North Node, Pallas Athena of strategy, Sun and Mercury.
Mars and Uranus are explosive as well as uncontrollable and oftentimes unknowable. Watch the Senate floor, and because of Neptune's rulership of Pisces, the mutual reception between Uranus in Pisces and Neptune in Aquarius ups the ante for scandal, pharmaceuticals double-dealing, problems with the smallpox vaccine, money changing hands behind the scenes, large corporations getting special perqs under the table, and Frisk lording it over the House of Representatives yet again with more last minute riders slipped into legislation that save drug companies but either kill or deprive citizens and the third world from receiving life saving medications at affordable prices.
Frist's acceptance speech of December 23, 2002 (3:05 PM, Nashville, Tennessee, 10 Gemini Rising) was a rambling panegyric and I had a helluva time figuring out where in the hell we were:
in an operating room? Baptist revival tent? The well of the United States Senate?
Frist rambled on about holding a human heart in your hand (how about a cat's? He knows a lot about that, too) and how glorious it is to give life. Then he praised the Lord. Finally he talked about making real changes in government. I got scared. It all began to sound like William Jennings Bryant's opening statement for the Scopes Monkey Trial.
Is Frist a doctor or a preacher? Is he Jack the Ripper or a savior? Is he a United States Senator or is he missionary?
Frist, the king of Neptune, is against abortion but profits from it through his massive investments in HCA Hospitals of America. He believes in the "sanctity of life" so long as it isn't a cat he needs to dissect; a death row inmate; or open season on anything that lives so that all remains in accordance with The National Rifle Association. He's against stem cell research, which is odd for a physican. He damned well knows the science behind the matter. There is nothing to say about it except that he's greasing his political wheels by adhering to the Bush party line.
Frist's speech, was the ultimate anesthesia. I could barely keep my eyes open after figuring out that this Southern good ole' boy was just mixing another shaker of church and state. If martinis were as dry as Frisk's oratory, we'd all start drinking again.
Frist had his Mars return on December 21, two days before Bush and Rove finished the Lott coup d'etat. By Christmas Eve, Bush's Inauguration chart Mars experienced its return setting off the T-square configuration comprised of both Uranus and Saturn in Aquarius and Taurus, respectively. Transiting Mars has opposed Inauguration Ascendant and currently trines Inauguration Venus at 17 Pisces.

Frist, one of the wealthiest members of Congress with a blind-trust fortune of $20 million, retains close ties with his family's hospital chain, which "has agreed to pay cumulative fines or penalties totaling $1.7 billion to settle accusations of health care fraud that included overbilling Medicare and kickbacks to physicians.
"Most folks probably have seen Frist in action as the TV networks' favorite Republican Senator to come before the cameras and talk about Anthrax, Smallpox, or AIDS. As such, he was calm, reasonable, and professional. However, given his voting record, it appears that Frist is only a more polished, more circumspect representative of that side of Republicanism that sunk Trent Lott and got Bush in trouble during his presidential campaign when he discussed with his aides, then agreed to speak at Bob Jones University, and said zip about its well-known, decades-long racist policies, explicitly identifying his brand of conservatism as being theirs." Life hasn't all been roses for the family Frist. In 1993, federal investigators swept through 19 HCA offices searching for evidence to document charges of overcharging and fraud. Among the accusations was that the network was paying kickbacks to physicians in the Medicare program. Seven years later, the company pled guilty to 14 felonies. Corporate difficulties were compounded by a suit from whistle-blowers who said they received death threats and were ostracized after going public with the allegations.
