CommentaryThe only data available for Danielle Van Dam is her birth date, September 22, 1994. The location of her birth remains undisclosed and we have no access (as yet) to her birth time. However, casting a speculative chart for 12:00 Noon, San Diego, California, reveals that at the time of Danielle's abduction, the 7 year old girl was experiencing her first Saturn-Saturn square: Natal Saturn 9 Pisces retrograde.Transiting Saturn 8 Gemini retrograde (until 2-7-02) The rulers, Jupiter [Pisces traditional/ancient ruler] retrograde (until 3-1-02) and Mercury (retrograde to 2-8-02), are the first indicators from Danielle's experimental chart that the child would eventually be found. Retrograde planets in horary and event charts often signal the "return of what was lost." Danielle's tight Saturn-Saturn square points to subsequent discovery (Danielles' remains allegedly found on 2-27-02's Full Moon: grand mutable square with Sun, Moon, Saturn, and the Full Moon's Sun/Moon midpoint: 8 Sagittarius). Danielle's experimental chart has a modern stellium of Scorpio planets squared by transiting Neptune of subterfuge and Uranus of sudden, uncontrollable, shocking events: Natal: Venus 11 Scorpio; Jupiter 13 Scorpio; North Node 15 Scorpio; and Pluto 25 Scorpio, partile Square Transiting Uranus at 25 Aquarius. Neptune at 9-10 Aquarius squares Danielle's Venus, Jupiter and North Node. The Scorpio planets in Danielle's experimental chart are highly descriptive of the rumors surrounding the Van Dam parents' life style. They are alleged to be "swingers" who have worked out an "open marriage" where sexual experimentation (Neptune/Uranus in square to Danielle's Scorpio planets) may describe "unusual sex practices of the parents." Too, in high profile cases, it is likely that a strong Scorpionic signature may be found in the chart of the victim, perpetrator, or event charts key to the case. Mars and Pluto are often found manifesting their dark sides in cases related to abduction, rape and death. In the case of Danielle, we have the Persephone/Pluto myth associated with Hades and the Underworld. The year 1994 corresponded with the last outside conjunction of Neptune and Uranus in structure-oriented Capricorn. Both of these outer planets indicate a breaking down of the status quo in favor of events out of one's personal control. The late 1980's marked the Great Reagan Recession; The Michael Milkin and Keating 7 S&L Scandals; and the junk bond scandal that sent the USA into a banking catastrophe. More intimately, the institution of marriage was under challenge as divorce rates soared to their highest levels in the USA's history. Bankruptcies and divorce also dominated the news. It is not as unlikely as one would think that Danielle's parents, at the time of her birth, may have opted for the "open marriage" lifestyle if not before. Danielle's Neptune-Uranus conjunction opposes her natal Mars at 23 Cancer. Her Mars has recently been in quincunx (150 degree aspect) to transiting Uranus; is trine her natal Pluto; and squares her natal Mercury at 25 Libra. Mars in Cancer is the drive towards safety and security. Uranus in Aquarius is the disruptor. This quincunx aspect may point to the fact that Danielle may have been feeling insecure from the time Uranus reached 22-23 Aquarius on December 21, 2001 and more so at the December 30, 2001 Lunar Eclipse at 8 Cancer/Capricorn. As of December 21, 2001 (the Capricorn ingress), The Sun, the December 30 eclipse and Mercury would have passed over Danielle's natal Neptune/Uranus conjunction in Capricorn opposing her natal Mars in trine to Pluto. Danielle's Pisces Saturn is in wide opposition to her Chiron in Virgo setting up a very stressful T-square with transiting Saturn in Gemini (Gemini is associated with young people). Saturn-Chiron placed along the Virgo/Pisces axis draws us towards themes of chasity and purity. Although we would assume that Danielle's parents kept their outside liaisons secret, children have a way of "knowing." [Danielle's Mercury in the relationship sign Libra is in partile square to experiemental Uranus in Aquarius]. I suspect Danielle intuitively knew that something was "different" about her family life. That is not to say that the Van Dam's private decision for outside relationships is the cause of Danielle's abduction. It would be specious logic to infer that David Westerfields addiction to child porn and propensity for violence was the direct result of the Van Dam's unusual marriage agreement. One does not necessarily have to do with the other. In astrology, we look at the whole picture and are careful not to render judgement based on the sum of any one part. Danielle was last seen at about 10:00 pm February 1, 2002 and discovered missing on February 2, 2002 at approximately 9:30 am. Charts set for the two aforementioned times show 12 Libra rising and 12 Aries rising, respectively. Here we have a reversal of chart angles where, in both charts, Moon in Libra has just opposed Mars in Aries and subsequently quincunxes its Venus ruler at 17 Aquarius. Sometime after 10:00 pm on February 1, Danielle was abducted from her bedroom by David Westerfield. This chart has 13 Capricorn/13 Cancer on the 4th and 10th house cusps in square to a first house Moon. The Moon had trined transiting Saturn in Gemini hours before setting off Danielle's Saturn-Saturn square in Pisces/Gemini. Transiting Mars quincunxed Danielle's Scorpio Venus, bringing her to the threshold of what may have been churning in Westerfield's mind at the time of the December 30, 2001 Cancer/Capricorn eclipse. (Mars squared Pluto/Moon trined Mars). Cancer/Capricorn is associated with home; Mars, Pluto and Moon: home invasion. The Asc/Mc for the "Last Seen" chart is 28 Leo, which is in semi-sextile to Danielle's natal Sun: 29 Virgo. The Asc/MC midpoint for "Danielle Discovered Missing" is 25 Aquarius: conjunct transiting Uranus in square to her natal Pluto. Yesterday's possible discovery of Danielle's remains (2-27-02 Full Moon) is significant because of the Ascendant (26 Cancer) in the degree of the Lunar Nodes for the "Discovered Missing" chart: 26 Gemini/26 Sagittarius. Retrograde Mercury (01 AQ) in the "Missing" chart is direct at 13 Aquarius in the "Discovered" chart. Mercury is now in square to Danielle's natal Venus and Jupiter and will reach the degree of her natal Lunar Nodes (15 Scorpio/15 Taurus) on March 1, 2002 -- the day San Diego investigators indicate that they should know whether the remains found are those of Danielle Van Dam. Westerfield was arrested on on February 22, 2002 and arraigned in San Diego Superior Court on his Solar Return, February 26, 2002. There is no known location or birth time for Westerfield. If February 22 marked his solar return (he is 50 years old), he was born in 1952 and faces his Chiron Return. Westerfield's natal Chiron is at 10 Capricorn in opposition to his natal Uranus at 10 Cancer in trine to Danielle's natal Venus in Scorpio. His Mars at 13 Scorpio conjoins her natal Jupiter in sextile Danielle's natal Chiron at 16 Virgo. Astrological correspondences are not deemed admissible evidence in a court of law. However, what we can deduce from the charts is that there is an undeniable connection between Westerfield and Danielle Van Dam. It will not be long now before bona fide forensic evidence points irrefutably at Westerfield. February 28- March 1, 2002, Starcats. |
