 Gore Says He Won't Run in 2004
Gore said he was making his decision “in the full awareness that it probably means that I will never have another opportunity to run for president.” MSNBC
WASHINGTON, Dec. 15 — Former Vice President Al Gore has decided not to run for president in 2004. “The last campaign was an extremely difficult one,” Gore told CBS’ “60 Minutes” in a segment broadcast on Sunday, two years and two days after conceding the election to George W. Bush. “There are a lot of people within the Democratic Party who felt exhausted [by the 2000 race] ... who felt like, OK, ‘I don’t want to go through that again.’ And I’m frankly sensitive to that feeling.”

Commentary
It gets down this: Al Gore's progressed Jupiter, ruler of the natural 9th house of politicians and preachers, has been retrograde since November 10, 1962 and won't be direct again until July 12, 2085.
Al is experiencing a progressed Lunar Return (3 Capricorn) ruled by transiting Saturn retrograde in the media (announcements) sign of Gemini. Transiting Mercury at 10 Capricorn is in mutual reception with damaging retro Saturn and conjunct wounding Chiron at 9 Capricorn.
Transiting Mercury and Chiron are the focal point (flowing out place) of the T-square formation they make to Al's crusade-for-the-good Aries Sun opposite mystical Neptune in Libra.
It is a rough day made rougher still as our next Full Moon (December 19) at 27 Gemini is conjunct retrograde Saturn -- the spoiler -- conjunct Al's progressed Mercury in his 11th house of "support from the party."
He doesn't have it from the Dems and he knows it.
And the media pundits? They're also retrograde Saturn in Gemini. Spoilers and cowards. Chris Matthews dissing Al on "Hardball" only to fawn at his feet in person. Howard Fineman snickering at the mention of Gore's name.
At this writing, the only person I know of who has stood up to George W. Bush and his Kleptocrats is Usama bin Laden.
Spineless Tom Daschle pays no attention to Trent Lott's racist encomium for Strom Thurmond. He "gets it" two days later. He's too busy daydreaming about becoming president. How can anyone vote for a Democratic Majority Leader who can't stand up the the Republicans who wrested an honest victory out of Al Gore's hands?
Transiting Jupiter in Leo is also retrograde. It conjoins Al's first house Pluto, Saturn and Mars conjunction. No nicely disguised planets here. No Pluto conjunct Mercury in the first masquerading as "nice little Venus in Leo" the way Bush's first house planets do. Bush's "trifecta" in the first house may make him popular with rednecks and right wingers, but isn't the person in the White House supposed to serve ALL THE PEOPLE?
Al Gore is raw now. The Leo planets in trine to transiting Pluto at 17 Sagittarius is no help. Transiting Pluto SQUARES Al's progressed Ascendant at 16 Virgo in opposition to his natal Mercury (16 Pisces). Pluto opposes his progressed MC at 15 Gemini. No matter how you slice it, Mercury has nothing good to tell us. The news IS bad. And tonight's announcement is one more blow.
transiting Pluto will reach 28 degrees Sagittarius and conjoin Gore's natal Jupiter (direct in motion) in 2007. Perhaps this is Gore's year. Although I haven't yet studied 2004's election charts to the full yet, suffice to say that unless a major scandal breaks out in 2003 (Saturn conjoining Bush's Sun and the USA's Sun in square to the USA's Saturn) and early in 2004, the Kleptos will most likely grab a second term of office.
Oh, not that so very many people want that to happen. Look at the 5-4 votes of the U.S. Supreme Court that gave Bush the presidency. Look at the very slim margins the GOP won by during the 2002 midterms. Neither case represents a mandate, but it is the PERCEPTION of power that Karl Rove is manipulating. That and the currency of war with Iraq.
So cowed are the American people under the Right Wing's lash that they cannot see nor yet feel the yoke of tyranny that has been laid upon them.
Al Gore's 12/15/02 Announcement on 60 Minutes
The Moon in Taurus is in the 10th house of the biwheel of Al Gore's natal chart and the time for the East Coast airing of 60 Minutes.
The Moon represents the people, and intercepted as this Moon is (using Koch houses), it is not surprising as aren't we all hemmed in whether we know it or not? And isn't the Moon's opposition to Mars-Venus in T-square to blinding Neptune in the 7th house of the chart apt? We are, as yet, unable to see too much further ahead, even when we already know when the next eclipse comes; what Saros cycle it represents; what the key words are for planets signs and houses.
Uranus in the 7th, too, is the shakeup minus recovery time. Its trine to retrograde Saturn of deep depression and loss of faith is only made worse by the fact that Al Gore's Natal North Node, 14 Taurus in his 10th house (intercepted) is the degree of the rising sign for the inauguration of each president of the United States on January 20 every four years. Okay. But his progressed north node is now 13 Taurus, since the nodes move (mostly) in retrograde motion, his destiny or "fated to be president" signature is slipping away....
Al's Solar Arc directed Moon is 26 Aquarius: conjunct the USA's Moon in Aquarius, symbolic of the common man and woman. His Tertiary Progressed Jupiter (direct!) is 27 Aquarius -- also conjunct the USA's Moon.
"I'm for the people, "he said during campaign 2000, "not for the powerful."
He is still for the people.
Too bad most of "the people" won't know what they lost until it is too late.
