It's War, Baby! Oh, Behave!
Mars 0 Declination North, January 19, 2002
Libra Ingress, September 23, 2002 (Washington, DC)
Commentary
"On January 19, 2002, T Mars will be at 0° declination, crossing the Earth’s equatorial plane and moving north. Some mundane astrologers regard this as a "war chart," showing upcoming hostilities for those countries where the chart is most powerful. The chart for Washington, D.C. (8:12 p.m. EST) shows Mars just on the 7th-house side of the 8th-house cusp. In traditional astrology, of course, the 7th house stands for open enemies, and the 8th stands for death. The Moon in the 8th is also at 0° declination and crosses to north exactly one hour and one minute later than Mars does. Both Mars and the Moon are in Aries. This speaks of violence and bloodshed." Jim Shawvan, TMA
Us and Them
The biwheel chart puts Ingress Mars (15 Virgo) in the first house where harsh and critical anger merges with what the USA identifies herself with at the time of the fall equinox. The God of War is in square to ruthless Pluto which falls in the fourth house associated with "the land of the free and the home of the brave."
The big issue is the Ingress Sun (0 Libra) in opposition to January 2002's Mars in the 7th house describing the USA's declared enemies at 0 North Declination.
October 6th's New Moon at 13 Libra conjoins the USA's natal Saturn positioned in its 10th natal house (house 2 of the biwheel chart). This New Moon ignites the natal Sun-Saturn square in the USA chart intensified by George Bush's Sun-to-USA-Sun conjunction at 13 Cancer.
The Libra New Moon points to the growing coldness issuing from American's allies and partners in the war against terrorism. The debate against a war in Iraq will escalate and bog down during Mercury's third and final retrograde cycle of 2002.
Reaching 29-28 Virgo on October 5th, Mercury will square Gemini placed Saturn. Rumors of war and more rumors surrounding a disingenuous representation by the White House of what Iraq might be hiding will also be publicly critcized.
Forward motion towards war in the Middle East will slow only until Mercury goes direct and moves past 13 degrees Libra on October 21 -- the degree at which Mercury turned retrograde -- and the degree of October 6th's New Moon.
Oddly enough, October 6th happens to be the day Mercury goes stationery direct, but slow Mercury and an even slower Saturn mean continued criticism and nasty public arguments launched by Democrats and many Republicans against the Bush-Perle-Wolfowitz-Rumsfeld vision (Neptune) of Pax (Venus) Americana.
The vision (Neptune) of Pax (Venus) Americana is highlighted in the triwheel chart featuring the Declaration of Independence (inner wheel), USA Constitution (middle wheel) and Bush's Inauguration chart (outer wheel).
Pax Americana
- Constitution Neptune (17 Libra) is quincunx Bush Inauguration Venus at 17 Pisces. (Houses 10 and 3, respectively).
- The Neptune-Venus "out of joint" quincunx is supercharged by the fact that the two planets are in mutual reception. Venus in Pisces rules Neptune in Libra. Neptune in Libra rules Venus in Pisces.
- These two lovers of vision or visionary lovers (whichever you prefer) only get nailed down when hard reality-oriented Saturn challenges the two by opposition or square. Saturn, at present, is at the tail end of Gemini and is set to retrograde back to 22 degrees of the sign by January 22, 2003. That is the time that Saturn will trine Constitution Neptune and square Inauguration Venus.
- Saturn will also square the USA's natal Neptune (22 Virgo) in its 9th house of foreign policy; oil; bioweapons; and inflated pseudo-religious righteousness ideology.
- Saturn means paying the price, among other things, so between now and late January, 2003, should Bush have already invaded Iraq, the price of the administration's Armageddon Theology masking as foreign policy will more clearly be known.
- The U.S. Constitution's Sun at 24 Virgo falls in the 9th house of the USA's birth chart. It conjoins the USA's Neptune, squares Inauguration Moon, Pluto and Chiron (in Sagittarius) and the USA's natal Mars at 21 Gemini. Houses 1 and 7 are again ignited by a Sun-Neptune (Belief in foreign policy guided by God).
- The aforementioned aspects equate to what is known as a T-square where the focal planet(s) take the heat of the argument locked up in the opposition. In this case, Inauguration Pluto, Moon, and Chiron in Sagittarius oppose the USA's Mars at 21 Gemini in house 7: publicly sworn enemies. Mars and Pluto are bitterly harsh especially in square or opposition. Drawing Chiron of mortal wounds to one's identity (first house placement) indicates that it happens due to a Neptunian misjudgment and subsequent misplacement of the will to conquer over a foreign enemy (9th house Neptune-Sun).
It is important to include the U.S. Constitution in this discussion because, for one, the U.S. Supreme Court overstepped its judiciary bounds by breaching separation of powers dividing the executive branch from the judical branch by ruling in favor of Bush during Selection 2000.
Second, John Ashcroft, the U.S. Attorney General who is sworn to uphold Constitutional law on behalf of the United States, reinterprets and abuses it whenever he can.
Third, when Congress signs the war resolution Bush craves and/or signs a Declaration of War against Iraq, it will be a constitutional procedure of enormous importance. Only Congress, the legislative branch of government, can actually declare war. The Chief Executive is allowed to use specific, limited war powers for a period of 90 days only. After that, any military actions initiated by a president must be approved by Congress.
As you can see by eyeballing the triwheel chart above, houses 1 through 4 and 7 through 10 are highly active by virtue of the many planets from each chart that gather in these quadrants.
First, houses 1 through 7 indicate that the people of the United States are entering a more subjective, self-reflective phase. Houses 7 through 10 indicate there is conflict (oppositions between the planets) between the desire to withdraw (anti-war protests against invading Iraq is a strong case in point) and the necessity to face down Al Qaeda, Saddam Hussein (whether right or wrong), and face the results of failed foreign policy.
Fossil fuels, the new opiate of the masses, along with biochemical warfare the USA sold to Saddam (the CDC gave Saddam a strain of the West Nile Virus) and "the greed is good" era (legacy of that black hole in space cadet, Ronald Reagan) all return as "blowback" upon the American people who had nothing to do with the creation of these failed, short-sighted, inhumane foreign and domestic policies.
Neptune in Virgo in the USA's 9th house should not be limited to an understanding of foreign policy and foreign oil alone. Neptune in Virgo is reflective of a pristine and hypercritical need to maintain a pure vision, ideology, religion and society. But Neptune is also dissolute; the blood frenzy of holy wars; addiction to fossil fuel and an alcoholic U.S. president now drunk on world power.
Neptune is propaganda, deceit and lies which the Bush White House unashamedly feeds to the American public. Neptune is paranoid fear, made-up problems, a dizzying imagination and is associated with the Armageddon visions of the Pilgrims (9th house foreigners who landed on Plymouth Rock) and American revolutionaries who saw King George as the AntiChrist.
America, with her Sagittarius rising, is steeped in religion, ideologies and myths gushing from the fount of a Judaeo-Christian, fundamentalist tradition. The USA's angry Mars in vocal Gemini opposite its ascendant (and ruled by Mercury in homey Cancer) means that her enemy must be labeled (Gemini) as a threat to her "way of life" or "a threat to civilization," two ideas strongly associated with the protective sign, Cancer.
Demonizing is one of America's favorite past times and is well-demonstrated by watching "the politics of self-destruction" and by listening to neo-conservative haters such as Ann Coulter, Laura Ingraham and radio talk-show host Rush Limbaugh.
"Warmongering for Jeeeesus" is a favorite past time for Jerry Falwell, Pat Robertson, anti-abortionists who bomb womens' clinics, degrade gays and lesbians, and those opposed to stem cell research which prevents people like Christopher Reeve from walking again.
Other demonizers in the public eye are those who want the rest of the world to foam at the mouth in a conversion frenzy to laissez faire capitalism by lying and calling it "democracy." By using the terrorist war argument, people like Bill Kristol can be paid $100,000 (and was) to write Rumsfeld's, Perle's, and Wolfowitz's Dr. Strangelovean, Orwellian world war plans. (See Bush Empire Plans).
William Bennett, who thinks he is a qualified voice for morals and ethics, advocated that we all should be having about six children per family. Nevermind that the globe and its resources cannot support such a population explosion. Neo-conservatives of Bennett's ilk, George Bush, and the aforementioned examples, are wrecklessly insane. Called "true believers," they would destroy everything to maintain "certainty" in their frightened little worlds.
Ari Fleischer modeled America's confusion and hypocrisy when he eschewed the idea that Americans would happily consider the conservation of fossil fuels: "The American way of life is blessed." Veep Dick Cheney said that conservation was a noble idea but impugned Americans by saying that their nobility wasn't good enough. [Otherwise, how else could Halliburton, Harken Energy and Enron manage to get away with corporate crime and make huge profits off Saddam later?] Thus, according to Ari and Dickie, it would appear that greed, suddenly, is not one of the seven deadly sins. It is one's Christian duty to carry massive credit card debt and turn a blind eye to a tax cut that benefitted only the rich.
Again, the American passion for demonizing her enemies whether real or perceived, is dramatically exhibited on Cable TV News shows daily. Neo-conservatives, schooled by Newt Gingrich's GOPAC school and propaganda masters like Lee Atwater (deceased) and his protege, Karl Rove, are brilliant modern uses of fundamentalist, crusader, witch burning rhetoric. As ugly as it is, there is something else far uglier -- it is working.
Hermann Goering, Nazi leader, at the Nuremberg Trials after World War II, said. . .
"Why of course the people don't want war ... But after all it is the leaders of the country who determine the policy, and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship ...Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is to tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger."
