In the Old Days, Bush Probably Drank Wild Turkey. Now That's He's Dry, He's Mad Because It Won't Go To War

"Turkish officials gave mixed signals Monday on whether the nation’s parliament will reconsider its stunning rejection of allowing U.S. troops to deploy inside the country. But even if lawmakers are asked to vote again, local media and diplomats suggested it won’t take place for a couple of weeks, forcing Pentagon planners to rethink a strategy that calls for attacks against Iraq from two fronts.
"THE UNEXPECTED rejection Saturday night caused the nation’s stock market to plunge 12 percent on Monday as investors feared the loss of a multibillion-dollar aid package from the United States.
Washington was so sure that it would gain Turkey’s support that cargo ships carrying U.S. armor are waiting off the Turkish shore and hundreds of jeeps and trucks have already been unloaded in southern Turkey.
Prime Minister Abdullah Gul on Monday refused to say whether the motion would be resubmitted to parliament.
“We are analyzing the situation and we will see what happens in the next few days,” Gul said in a news conference."

Bush's Mars at 9 Virgo conjoins Turkey's North Node and opposes its explosive Uranus. Bush's Mars on the North Node reveals that the fate of the Iraq war's success hinges upon Turkey's decision. Without their agreement to allow the U.S. military to use its borders as a staging area, the Iraq war, according to MSNBC's military analysts, could last two months longer.
The "No" vote by Turkey's parliament came the day before March 2, 2003's New Moon at 12 Pisces. The New Moon conjoined Turkey's Uranus, the planet we equate with sudden and surprising turns. Luna, just reborn in the gentle, universal sign of the fish must navigate dark, brackish waters populated by predators of the deep. Today's Mars in sextile to Uranus just prior to the Moon's square to Mars plants the seed for explosive anxiety and repercussions before news of the total consequences makes it to the headlines: Mercury will conjunct transiting Uranus, the USA's Progressed Sun, her natal Moon and her Solar Arc Mercury on March 4, 2003. We are likely to be shocked and perhaps appalled at the news, as the aforementioned conjunctions take place in the USA's 3rd house associated with the press.
Mars is set to enter Capricorn on March 4 and will reach Turkey's 7th cusp by March 16, 2003. Transiting Mars will oppose its natal Pluto, Bush and the USA's Sun and square the USA's Saturn and Bush's natal Moon. This does not augur well for Turkey's continued relationship with the United States and vice versa. Turkey is balancing its own safety and the will of its people against huge bribery dollars the Bush administration is offering it. Basically, what Bush is saying is, "We know what you are, now we just have to agree on the price." It would appear that the Turks have more on their minds than international street-walking.
Transiting Saturn is now in direct motion releasing its strait jacket restraints on the USA's schizophrenic Mars in dire need of medication. Bush's natal and progressed Uranus, a quart low on Thorazine, presses ever more strongly on the Geminian Mars. Saturn's forward move is akin to the psych-tech who can't stand it anymore. Slowly the syringe drops as it becomes more apparent that Mars in square to the USA's drug-induced dream of world power cannot be restrained.
Transiting Pluto is in conjunction to Bush's South Node at 20 Sagittarius, taking on a nodal hit from Turkey's natal Neptune at 20 Leo. Since the aforementioned are in the same degree, we call this contact "Nodal degree," making the trine aspect ever so much more powerful. Turkey's Scorpio Sun reveals that it is smart enough to reserve something up its sleeve and that it is hungry for more via its Taurean complement (polar opposite sign). It's Venus and Jupiter in Scorpio were opposed by 2000's Jupiter-Saturn conjunction at 22 Taurus, a powerful seed moment drawing her straight into "the New World Order" foreseen by the Bush administration's addiction to world hegemony and control of fossil fuel.
This next week will be telling because the final word on a second vote by Turkey's parliament hasn't yet been spoken.
Adjustments to military strategy without Turkey's cooperation take this unjust war into the realm of "nodal" or fated consequences. The twists and turns along the road of destiny were pointed out by the likes of the brilliant Sophocles and Aeschylus and Euripedes, writers of the great Greek tragedies. Character is destiny, and America's character is modeled by each president. This one wasn't elected. We've got a rogue president running a now rogue super power.

Kuwait May Take U.S. Troops After Turk Refusal

KUWAIT (Reuters) - Kuwait said on Monday it would accept hosting U.S. troops who had been intended to be deployed in Turkey after the Turkish parliament refused to allow them into the country, the Kuwaiti defense minister said.
"If they (United States) present a formal request we are willing," Defense Minister Sheikh Jaber al-Hamad al-Sabah told reporters.
Kuwait already hosts tens of thousands of U.S. forces training in the Gulf Arab state for a possible attack on neighboring Iraq.
