Starcats: The Survivor Series!Report Warns of Chronic U.S. Budget Deficits "The Bush administration has shelved a report commissioned by the Treasury that shows the US currently faces a future of chronic federal budget deficits totalling at least $44,200bn in current US dollars. . . . "But the Bush administration chose to keep the findings out of the annual budget report for fiscal year 2004, published in February, as the White House campaigned for a tax-cut package that critics claim will expand future deficits." Saturn's move into Cancer on June 3rd paves the way for the Cancer Ingress (Summer Solstice) of June 21 when the Sun will come to meet the planet of austerity ushering in the leanest of times seen in the United States in decades. Note the Moon's position for June 3: 26 Cancer. It conjoins Bush's natal Saturn, the USA's Mercury, and opposes the USA's Pluto of Plutocracy/Plutolatry in Capricorn which is ruled by Saturn. It is clear that this White House means to restructure (Saturn) the USA's wealth base by transfering the whole of it to the upper crust and to the military. Meanwhile, the sane among us who point out the obvious are accused of engaging in "class warfare." What about systematic looting from the national treasury doesn't remind even dueling banjo types of Marie Antoinette's "Let them eat cake" mentality? On June 27, 2003 (see USA chart below) Saturn starts its roll over the USA's Venus-Jupiter conjunction in Cancer of "the Homeland" in house 7 of the Sagittarius rising chart. Venus-Jupiter (and Jupiter is exalted in the sign) are responsible in great part for the USA's massive wealth, placid acceptance of laissez-faire capitalism, and strokes the feel-good New Age philosophy of "think the right warm, fuzzy thoughts and I can have it all and be it all." Nevermind that 2/3rds of the real world out there has no food, potable water, housing, hospitals, security, clothing and schools. But to be fair, let's not forget our debt to Milton Friedman and the Chicago School of Economics for saddling us with 30+ years of market based economic theory (trickle down economics, Reaganomics) that has been proven over and over again not to work. But that's another story. Suffice to say that the harshness of the USA's Mercury Pluto opposition (Bush has a Mercury Pluto conjunction) is articulated in American society as a form of economic darwinism: survival of the fittest. Dog eat dog. Competition in the market place. Deregulate in order to escalate competition. The poor are poor because they are immoral, bad and lazy. Minimum wage workers don't deserve a leg up from those they've made rich. After all, they'd be rich if they weren't immoral, bad and lazy. Saturn's move into Cancer (See chart above) shows Mercury, Venus and North Node in Taurus in the 5th house, the domain associated with the stock market and other forms of gambling whether legal or illegal. The Bush administration is gambling the country away by looting the treasury for its cronies under cover of specious claims of "tax cut incentives to boost the economy." Mercury and Venus conjoined in the big money sign of Taurus, reiterate the Jupiter-Saturn conjunction in Taurus of year 2000, and are in square to Mars at 24 Aquarius, just shy of a move across the USA's Moon (signifiying the People) in the USA chart. This Mercury-Venus conjunction sends a message back to the Saturn-Uranus squares of 2000 and 2001 and energizes the defining eclipse of the 21st Century that occurred at 18 Leo in August of 1999. I mention the former astro-events because it is important to take into account the massive amount of energy these planetary alignments have unleashed into geopolitics. The Bush Administration has diverted the USA into a unilateralist fundamentalism in government and diplomacy that alarms not only the sane and reasonable in the USA but continues to terrify the rest of the globe. Saturn is at 29 Gemini now, and since it entered the late degrees of the sign, I've noted a slow, but steady toe-dipping by the mainstream press into the waters of criticism of the Bush administration and of the wack-jobs running around the Pentagon. The press, and the world community, is asking Bush and Tony Blair: WHERE'S THE BEEF? Wolfowitz responded to the criticism with his horrifyingly cynical explanation that WMD's were just a convenient excuse for war. It is clear that what peace activists, Hans Blix, the IAEA, the UN and even Republican dissenters were saying is true: Bush and the neocon wingnuts had planned from the beginning to invade Iraq regardless of whether there was "evidence" for doing so or not. When will it become clear to the American people that at the very least, the midterm elections of 2002 were won by the GOP because Karl Rove directed the White House to launch war, war, war?USA CHARTArchived news briefs: June 9, 2003". . . any day now, Karl Rove is going to role [sic] out some grand distraction. As BuzzFlash has predicted many a time, the Bush Cartel will plant WMD's in Iraq if they can be assured that they will get away with it. So that's the first thing to watch out for. . . ."
