Daylight Saving Time Date change in 2007
"On August 8, 2005, President George W. Bush signed the Energy Policy Act of 2005. This Act changed the time change dates for Daylight Saving Time in the U.S. Beginning in 2007, DST will begin on the second Sunday of March and end the first Sunday of November. The Secretary of Energy will report the impact of this change to Congress. Congress retains the right to revert the Daylight Saving Time back to the 2005 time schedule once the Department of Energy study is complete." daylight saving time.org

The term ingress refers to the entry of a planet, one of the luminaries (the Sun or the Moon), or some other celestial body such as an asteroid into a sign of the zodiac. Modern ephemerides (tables of planetary positions) often include information on the exact time one of the planets or one of the luminaries enters a new sign. The term has also been used to refer to the entry of a transiting planet or luminary into a new house. (The Astrology Encyclopedia, James R. Lewis, Visible Ink Press, copyright © 1994, pg. 304.) The Sun's ingresses into the equinoctical and solsticial signs (ingress charts) are key to studying the eclipse and lunation cycles for any given year. Ingress charts are studied along with the foregoing in Mundane Astrology in an effort to understand life cycles for nations, rulers, political parties, etc. Genethliacal¹ astrology and Horary² astrology are also enhanced through the use of eclipse and ingress charts. Whether we undertake the study of a country or a single human being, lunations, eclipses and ingress charts allow us a deeper look into ourselves and the world in which we live. Combining lunations, eclipses and ingress charts into progressions, solar arc directions, and solar returns also enhances our understanding of that which is to come. I have provided chart data for the ingresses (above) and eclipses for 2001-2004 so that you can cast the charts and assemble them into a notebook. My notebook is assembled in date order so that I can flip easily through the pages while examining a chart. The more organized you become and the more willing you are to work with details, the faster you will be able to grasp and work with large amounts of astrological data. |
