If this is a pregnant chad,
does Roe v. Wade apply?

This Update dedicated to Teresa Reedy

Wooing Justice

Secretary of State, Kathrine Harris, eliminates votes from Election 2000.

Don't worry if you can't tell the difference between the bird on your table and the turkey-in-progress down in Florida. Transiting Mars at 10 Libra is the sword of Solomon; retrograde Saturn is the box of dried bones hurled by attorneys; and perhaps retrograde Jupiter (in double-minded Gemini) is the Tarot's 5 of Swords slouching towards Bethlehem to be born. Regardless of the State Supreme Court's ruling of November 21, 2000, I suspect the next motion filed will be one by the Republicans moving the court for an order disallowing the inclusion of ballots with dimpled chads.

Katherine Harris plays touch football with Caput Algol and Election 2000.

The chart for the Supreme Court Hearing of November 20, 2000 is simply eerie. There's no other way to put it. The Ascendant (17 Pisces) is the degree of the Moon for the Polls Open chart of Election 2000 in Dixville Notch, New Hampshire. Again and again we find ourselves joined to this core chart. AND to the U.S. Constitution chart, as well as to the USA's Declaration of Independence chart (12 Sag rising, where transiting Pluto conjoins the Ascendant indicating a deep purge within the collective). November, 2000 is more than a contest. More than the obsession (Pluto) with chads and hand-counted ballots (retrograde Saturn in Taurus/retrograde Jupiter in Gemini symbolizing repetitive hand motion/counting).

Katherine Harris attempts delivery of Florida to Bush.

The "Hearing" chart's Sun (28 Scorpio) is the Midheaven of the U.S. Constitution's natal chart. Transiting Pluto (12 Sag) conjoined the Constitution's natal Moon (7 Sag) in November, 1998 as the House Judiciary Committee began their covert plans to conduct Impeachment Hearings on President Clinton. Pluto's waltz over the Constitution's natal Moon was the opening of the floodgates launching the USA on a course called "The politics of destruction." Transiting Uranus conjoined the U.S. Constitution's natal Pluto (14 Aquarius) both by direct and retrograde motion over the last two years. Progressed Pluto (U.S. Constitution) is 17 Aquarius, where Uranus sits now. Upheaval? Disruption? Strikes? Airplane crashes? Polarization? In order for Pluto to dig out the dross, Uranus first needs to tear apart the old guard's (Saturn) entrenched ideas. AND the politics of benefitting the few at the expense of the many.

Whereas it appears the Democrats kicked ass by virtue of the Supreme Court's ruling, it is still anyone's guess as to how the vote counts will stack up at the end of the day. Sunday, November 26, 2000 (5:00 PM EST) is the deadline for all additional ballot tallies. You can rest assured that Katherine Harris will not extend the time to Monday at 9:00 AM. Her last "discretionary" act may well be the earlier deadline which would impede Miami-Dade's ability to render their full count.

As bizarre as Election 2000 has turned out, I am heartened by its antics, pratt falls, and conundrums. For the first time since the Civil Rights Movement of the 1960's (Uranus conjunct Pluto in Virgo), the people of the United States are standing UP and demanding to be counted. What was once the sublime apathy of "don't think, don't vote, don't care," has metamorphosized into "It is MY right to have MY voice heard." Don't think it will stop here, either. Perhaps our exposure to backroom deals and public blood-letting will mobilize the collective towards re-evaluating what real human decency truly is. It won't be found in the back of a dusty Bible. It is a living thing. A thing of conscience. A thing related to the right use of power. In other words, it is a path with heart.
