Aries is spirit seeking concrete identity through what it can conceive and achieve. Aries must renew itself through doing or else the firery martian energy stagnates. As quickly as one idea is born, the cardinal fire of Aries burns on to another. An Aries in action is a flurry of flung sneakers, crumpling junk food wrappers, and snap-snap of a briefcase popping open.

Aries are not particularly neat nor are they methodical. Method comes when Aries integrates Taurean patience with Virgo's organization. The Ram is imbued with "shakti" (cosmic primal energy). You can identify a "pure" Aries by his/her interest in noisy inventions, fire works, boistrous business negotiations, and a penchant for focusing on the self.

Sports and competition are healers for true Rams. Aries' planetary ruler, Mars, needs combat in order to burn off an abundance of energy. For example, restive Mars rules olympic athletes, soldiers of fortune, martial arts devotees, and hard physical work. If you doubt this, just watch a Bruce Lee or Steven Segal movie with an Aries!

Aries, who can be romantic, courageous and optimistic, can also be a royal pain in the ass. When unbalanced, Aries can be overbearing, bossy and blusteringly naive unless through mediation and self-survey the Ram integrates its shadow side: Libra. The scales, which lies opposite (180 degrees) from Aries, supplies the tact, identification, and desire to negotiate with others equitably. All signs balance through their polarity (the sign opposite). Libra empowers Aries' need to balance doing with being. Once aligned, Aries is an intuitive, resourceful, warm and generous companion.
